Die Setup Technician

Overview

A manufacturing facility in the York area is seeking a Die Setup Technician to assist with installing, removing, and adjusting stamping dies and related equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring dies are set up correctly, producing parts that meet customer specifications, and supporting efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and remove stamping dies according to job specifications.
  • Set up auxiliary equipment to match production requirements.
  • Load dies and inspect initial parts to ensure they meet print and quality expectations.
  • Make die adjustments as needed to achieve acceptable, consistent part output.
  • Use measurement tools and quality procedures to verify product accuracy.
  • Collaborate with supervisors regarding tooling concerns, modifications, or adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, production records, and setup logs.
  • Follow standard housekeeping practices to keep the work area clean and safe.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the production team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of vocational/technical training or at least two years of stamping or die setup experience.
  • Ability to perform basic math, including fractions, decimals, and metric/standard conversions.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, setup instructions, and maintenance procedures.
  • Experience using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
  • Ability to read blueprints, tooling prints, and geometric dimensioning/tolerancing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Capability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Ability to complete required training and work overtime, night shifts, or weekends when needed.

Schedule and compensation

    • Full-time position
    • 2nd Shift
    • May require overtime or weekend work depending on production needs
    • Fast-paced manufacturing setting with daily tooling interaction
    • Pay discussed during screening; based on experience
